Car rental metasearch brand HappyCar has captured €2.6 million in funding a string of European venture capital companies.

Backing the Germany-based service are HR Ventures, Capnamic Ventures, NWZ Digital and TruVenturo, led by Creathor Venture.

The Series A investment comes 12 months after a seed round of $1.6 million from the same collection of VCs.

The company was launched in 2013 in its domestic market, with the Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy following the same year and Poland in 2014.
