Travel Compositor, better known as TravelC, has brought in Euro 1 million in funding amid an aggressive growth strategy.

Venture capital group La Caixa led the round in the Mallorca, Spain-based company.

The funds will be used to build on its existing presence in Europe, as well as help push its ambitions to tackle the busy US market.

TravelC builds consumer-facing booking platforms and other software for online travel agencies, tour operators and tourism boards, including dynamic packaging tools.

Coinciding with the fund-raise is news that the company will acquire Hotelrum, a fellow developer of software services for hotel websites.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Based in ParcBit tech hub in Palma, TravelC is run by Manuel Aragones and Vicente Rossello. It has 70 customers in 25 countries.

Six-year-old Hotelerum was created as part of the Inspirit incubator.

La Caixa was previously invested in on-board tech provider ImmFly and ByHours, a hotel booking service.
