The winners of the 2014 World Boutique Hotel Awards were announced on 12th November at a glittering awards ceremony held in London. Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) properties were triumphant on the evening scooping 10 awards. The ceremony brought together an array of boutique hoteliers, press and industry representatives from across the globe and 8 individual SLH hotels walked away with awards. SLH property Viceroy Bali collected two awards at the prestigious event – ‘Asia’s Best Boutique Hotel’ and ‘World’s Best Honeymoon Boutique Hotel’. Hôtel Les Ottomans was also a double winner on the evening picking up the ‘Middle East’s Best Boutique Hotel’ and the ‘Middle East’s Best Honeymoon Boutique Hotel’. The other SLH winners of the evening were Pacific Resort Aitutaki, Cook Islands, who walked away with ‘World’s Best Beach or Coastal Boutique Hotel’ and the regional winner for Europe in this category was Bill & Coo, Mykonos. Olive Boutique Hotel, Puerto Rico, won ‘World’s Best Design Boutique Hotel’ and the ‘World’s Best Sustainable Boutique Hotel’ was awarded to Zeavola Resort, Thailand. Co-founders Daniela Wager and Judith Wagercollected the ‘World’s Best Spa Boutique Hotel’ award for Argentinian property Entre Cielosand The Pand, Bruges walked away with ‘Europe’s Best Romantic Retreat’.
