Spain-based luxury hotel booking site Splendia has sold after 12 years in operation to travel deals service Voyage Prive.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed in the announcement this week.
The acquisition is being touted as a way for the Voyage Prive Group, which also runs the L’Officiel Des Vacances brand, to offer bookings on hotels outside of its existing private sales model.
Splendia also has a content management system and connectivity technology to push the brands into new areas.
The Spain-based Splendia was created in 2004 and has since amassed 3,500 high-end properties on its portfolio.
It claims to have some 400,000 members, mostly in Europe.
The deal is the second such acquisition for the group in 18 months, having bought crowd-sourced OTA Darjeelin in September 2014 (but later closing it down).
