China and New Zealand signed a cooperation agreement to further simplify visa procedures for China tourists to visit New Zealand.

China National Tourism Administration and Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment of New Zealand recently signed a cooperation agreement to further simplify visa procedures for China tourists to visit New Zealand.

The two sides will work together to strengthen market supervision, improve customer satisfaction, and increase bilateral air routes and waypoints. In addition, the two sides will further establish a tourism consultation mechanism and carry out high-level officials’ dialogue regularly.

The total number of visitor arrivals for September was up 2.7 percent year-on-year to 240,000, according to Statistics New Zealand.

Tourism New Zealand also signed a strategic partnership agreement with China Southern Airlines. The two sides will cooperate in all aspects of brand promotion, media relations, trade shows and so on. General Manger of Tourism New Zealand Asia, Craig David said, “China has become the second-largest tourist source country of New Zealand.
