Travel bookings system supplier Multicom has been acquired by Sweden-based Paxport with terms of the deal undisclosed.
Paxport specialises in ancillary technology for airlines and according to a statement the two companies will “bring the traveller experience to a new level by aggregating and merchandising flights, hotels and other travel enhancing services.”
The statement also says the acquisition of Multicom, best known for its FindandBook technology, will complement Paxport’s existing post-booking offering by giving it access to the booking stages.
The acquisition doubles the size of the Stockholm-based company which was founded in 1994 and is an IATA NDC strategic partner.
The statement says Multicom will remain at its Bristol-based office while a review is underway of roles and responsibilities. It is understood that chief executive John Howell has entered into a period of consultation of his position.
In December, another UK-based tour operator systems supplier, TigerBay, was acquired by Atcore.
