Mid-Range Hotels Market Becomes New Battlefield for International Hotels

The mid-range brands market are becoming the new battlefield of international hotel group for the increasing consumers’ demand for the international hotel.

The reporter learned from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. that the company opened 74 hotels in 26 countries around the world last year, adding approximately 15,000 rooms. The nine brands of Starwood will settle in China and focus on mid-range hotel market.

Simon Turner, President of Global Development for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide said the path for global growth is clear because the number of new signing hotels has achieved stable and sustainable growth last year.

According to the information disclosed by Starwood, the company will focus on the expansion of Mid-Market Brands. Starwood’s mid-market segment continues to gain considerable momentum, with 35 openings and 100 new deals signed in 2014 across the Four Points by Sheraton, Aloft and Element brands. The segment accounts for approximately 40% of Starwood’s global growth pipeline and will comprise nearly half of the company’s new hotel openings in 2015, amid rising demand for strong global brands at an affordable price point in both major metro and secondary markets around the world. The insider analyzed that mid-range brands market are becoming the new battlefield of international hotel group for the increasing consumers’ demand for the international hotel.
