A professional and adaptable veteran with almost 3 decades’ hospitality work experience, Peter steps into his new role in Starwood after serving in several successive key executive and General Manager position in a variety of premium boutique hotels and international hotel chains, such as Kempinski and IHG groups. He left his footprint across different locations, including Asia, Europe and Middle East. He was previously General Manager at Kempinski Nile Hotel, Cairo, Egypt. Peter Nast is well known as an accomplished people motivator and result orientated leader strong in delivering extraordinary operational excellence. In his new role, Mr. Nast is responsible for all aspects of the Astor Hotel’s operations, including financial performance, guest engagement, employee development and brand recognition. Peter will bring his senior hospitality industry management experience to the iconic 152-year old landmark in Tianjin’s financial and business district. With his depth and breadth of knowledge, keen attention to detail and his expert understanding of the luxury traveller’s requirements, hotel will enhance the positioning and reputation of this unique and historical property Opened in 1863, The Astor witnessed numerous political and historical dramas of a bygone era for China – including revolutionary leader Dr Sun Yat-sen commanding his forces from the hotel, and ‘Last Emperor’ Pu Yi and Empress Wan Rong dancing in the ballroom.
