This reimagined, complimentary event will occur three nights a week (each with a different theme) at all Residence Inn hotels and combines local culinary experiences (local food trucks, small bites from local restaurants, upscale beverages, interactive experiences like outdoor grilling and more), social interaction, augmented-reality technology and an app. The new program comes as the extended-stay brand introduces a new look and feel (brand colors, website, advertising, new lobby design, etc.) in its attempt to reach Millennial business travelers. “Our research found that more than half of frequent business travelers are looking for something to do without needing to leave the hotel on long stays,” said Diane Mayer, vice president and global brand manager, Residence Inn. “They want to meet others and experience the local area without the hassle of always leaving the hotel to do it — so we’re bringing local to them.” The augmented-reality experience will be showcased at four special Residence Inn Mix launch events starting this month in Boston, Los Angeles, Austin, Texas, and Washington, D.C. Guests will be provided with blippable beverage coasters that allow them to unlock unique interactive experiences including multi-player trivia games, customizable selfies and content including suggested food and beer pairings. |
