With a two-digit growth rate of overnight visitors the 100,000 available hotel beds are not enough to cater the strong demand. In the coming two years 18 new first class and luxury hotel with approximately 4,000 beds will open their doors in the cosmopolitan métropole at the “Bosporus“. These facts have been published by TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the worldwide leading provider of hotel construction lead data and hotel chain information. During the first half of this year 4,2 million tourists travelled to Istanbul. This constitutes an increase of 18,7 per cent compared to the previous year. Most visitors came from Germany, followed by Russia, the USA, France, Great Britain and Iran. Istanbul is considered one of the ten most popular conference destinations. The hotel chains Le Méridien, Renaissance and Rixos also expanded their international portfolio with new properties in Istanbul.
