DJ Rama, President of JHM Hotels says, “We are confident that Gary’s proficiency in management will help his team take the Hyatt Regency Greenville to new heights that will thrill our guests and the Greenville community.”

Every day marks a step closer to construction completion at the Hyatt Regency Greenville. The 30 year old property is undergoing a major transformation through a comprehensive, cutting edge, multimillion dollar renovation.

The scope of the project touches every area of the hotel, inside and out. The completed hotel will provide unmatched sophistication and beauty in Greenville’s hotel market, and Gary Cohen, the new GM, has plans to make sure the guests’ experiences don’t stop with the aesthetic.

Gary says, “I feel a responsibility to provide memorable experiences to our guests through our level of hospitality and service. We plan to position ourselves as a leader in the community through our attention to detail, culinary expertise, and our commitment to excellence in everything we do.”

DJ Rama, President of JHM Hotels says, “We are confident that Gary’s proficiency in management will help his team take the Hyatt Regency Greenville to new heights that will thrill our guests and the Greenville community.”

Gary Cohen came to Greenville from Charleston, where he spent the last five years serving as the General Manager of the Market Pavilion Hotel. He has also served as the General Manager of the J.W. Marriott Hotel at Lenox in Atlanta, and the Columbia Marriott. In each location where Gary has served, he has been actively involved in his community, in roles such as President of the Children’s Hospital Board of Directors and the Legislative Committee of the Chamber of Commerce.

The Georgia Hospitality and Travel Association awarded him the Lodging Leader of the Year, and Governor Carroll Campbell awarded him the Order of the Palmetto, the highest honor given to civilians in South Carolina.

On his new role, Cohen says, "I am so pleased to be a part of JHM Hotels and be able to introduce guests to the luxury of the Hyatt experience at the iconic Greenville hotel. Being a part of NOMA Square during this time of rebirth for the North end of Main Street is truly exciting.”

Cohen and his wife Susan have been married for 21 years and have three sons. They can be found cheering on the Clemson Tigers during every home game.
