Hyatt Hotels Corp. announced the official opening of Park Hyatt Siem Reap, its first property in Cambodia. The building, formerly known as Hotel De La Paix, has undergone a 14-month renovation. Interior designer Bill Bensley led the project. The property's 108 contemporary guestrooms include 13 suites, four of which have private plunge pools. The white façade and domed ceiling draw inspiration from the interior towers of the nearby Angkor Wat complex. The design uses vibrant colors, inspired by the local culture. Interiors have a residential atmosphere and feature Khmer-inspired contemporary art, wood floors and Italian marble. The Dining Room serves a mix of Khmer and French provincial fare, with local market produce figuring into Cambodian dishes. The space uses warm tones and Italian marble. The Living Room lounge, meanwhile, serves high tea, cocktails, wine, and beverages. Pizzas, fresh pastries, homemade ice cream and other comfort food is available at the Glasshouse Deli Patisserie. The 2,615-sq-ft (242-sq-m) Spa at Park Hyatt Siem Reap includes a 24-hour fitness center, six treatment rooms, a steam room, and a rooftop relaxation space. The lap pool is surrounded by gardens, while the free-form swimming pool on the first floor has an infinity edge, green tiles and landscaping that includes large trees to evoke a Southeast Asian lagoon. Park Hyatt Siem Reap also offers event spaces that include a gallery with access to a full open kitchen and a separate boardroom. |
