Swissôtel Hangzhou will join four Swissôtel properties already operating in China, with a further six under development.

　　Swissôtel has entered into an agreement to manage a new luxury hotel in Hangzhou.

　　The 400-room Swissôtel Hangzhou is currently being developed in the capital of eastern China’s Zhejiang province, set on a riverside plot in the Qianjiang Century area of the city, adjacent to the Hangzhou Olympic Center and exhibition centre.

　　Expected to open in 2018, the hotel will form part of a major new development comprising meeting and convention facilities, residences, offices and retail outlets. It will also be home to a 300-room Fairmont hotel.

　　"As one of China’s top urban centres and a key coastal hub, Hangzhou is an ideal market for our Swissôtel product,” said Jennifer Fox, president of Swissôtel’s parent company, FRHI International. "The local economy continues to grow at a rapid pace and the destination is also a top draw for leisure travel given its reputation as one of China’s most beautiful cities.”

　　Upon completion, Swissôtel Hangzhou will feature 400 rooms, four restaurants, a Pürovel Spa & Sport facility and approximately 2,000m² of meeting and function space. The development will also house 400 serviced apartments, which will be operated under the Swissôtel Living brand.

　　Swissôtel Hangzhou will join four Swissôtel properties already operating in China, with a further six under development. In total, FRHI, which includes Swissôtel, Fairmont and Raffles brands, now has 20 hotels open or in the pipeline in China.
