Marriott will unveil JW Marriott Hotel Macau on May 27 at 1,015 rooms. JW Marriott is not only going bigger, but it’s also going bigger faster. JW Marriott is going big. After introducing JW Marriott Austin last month (1,022 rooms), the brand will unveil JW Marriott Hotel Macau on May 27 at 1,015 rooms. JW Marriott has opened large hotels before. The world’s largest JW Marriott is JW Marriott Marquis Dubai at more than 1,600 rooms. JW Marriott Indianapolis and JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa both boast more than 1,000 rooms. But the fact that JW Marriott will be adding two 1,000-room hotels in the span of four months is significant. JW Marriott is not only going bigger, but it’s also going bigger faster. JW Marriott Macau will be part of the $1.9 billion Galaxy Macau complex, next to sister property The Ritz-Carlton Macau. Deluxe Rooms will be about 500 square feet, and rates start at about 2,388MOP (Macau Pataca), or $300, for the “Unlimited Urban Escape” package, which includes breakfast, Wi-Fi and a “Grand Opening Welcome Gift.” The rooms will include marble bathrooms with separate bathtubs and showers, IN-DUCT air purifiers, mini-bars, DVD players, daily newspaper, private safes and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms and suites will open up to outdoor whirlpools and patios with private plunge pools, while also offering access to an Executive Lounge. Man Ho—a Cantonese restaurant open for lunch and dinner—will be the hotel’s signature dining option, complete with private dining rooms. There will also be a stylish all-day restaurant called Urban Kitchen and a coffee house called The Lounge. On top of that, JW Marriott Macau will feature an ESPA spa, a fitness center, an outdoor heated pool, a dedicated kids pool and a salon, while doubling the complex’s “Grand Resort Deck” to 80,000 square meters with “the world’s longest aquatic adventure river, the largest skytop wave pool, a 350-ton white sand beach, and water attractions including waterslides, beach lagoons, water rapids, geysers, waterfalls and more.” For business travelers and event planners, the hotel will feature also feature space for meetings, events and banquets, accommodating about 2,000 people. The adjacent Ritz-Carlton Macau will feature about 250 suites. Guests can book an “Unlimited Suite Experience” (tasting menu for two at Ritz Café, complimentary transportation to and from the ferry terminal or the airport, and a “Grand Opening Welcome Gift”) for about 4,388MOP ($550) per night. |
