Muji will open its second hotel location this August, in Beijing. With just 42 rooms, the Muji Hotel has been designed to reflect an ‘anti-gorgeous, anti-cheap’ concept. Cooperating with Muji stores, the hotel seeks to provide a physical experience of the Muji philosophy through the texture of the towels, the placement of outlets and light switches, menu and venue of the restaurant, and more. With wonderful views of Tiananmen Square, Muji Hotel Beijing is located in a corner of central Beijing that still retains the atmosphere of China’s court culture. Guest rooms are available in six types and standard amenities include many of the same items sold in Muji stores.
