The Reverie Saigon, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, will open in early 2015 within the new 39-floor Times Square building in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1.

The Reverie will include the longest bar counter in Saigon, the length of a city block.

There will also be an outdoor pool, 1,200sqm spa and fitness centre, a helicopter pad, and a fleet of high-end vehicles to serve guests, including two limited edition Rolls-Royce Phantom Dragons.

In Thailand, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will open W Retreat Phuket - Phang Nga Bay in January 2018.

Thai medical doctor and skincare entrepreneur, Dr Wutthisak Limphanit, owns the W Retreat Phuket.

Asia Pacific is home to three W Retreat properties, including W Retreat & Spa Maldives, W Retreat Koh Samui and W Retreat & Spa Bali – Seminyak. W Retreat & Spa Goa is on track to open in 2015.

In China, the newest hotel in Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ Luxury Collection features a design scheme that highlights its location along the Qiantang River in Hangzhou.

The Azure Qiantang, which opened Monday, is encased in a blue-glass structure that’s designed to symbolise the waves of the river’s tidal bore.

The 205-room hotel also plays up its luxury offerings with a spa that includes seven treatment rooms and a restaurant that has 14 private-dining suites in addition to its main dining room.

In Africa, InterContinental Hotels Group has signed a management agreement with Tsemex Hotels and Business Plc to develop Crowne Plaza Addis Ababa, the first IHG hotel to open in Ethiopia.

And in the UAE, Jumeirah, has revealed plans to launch a new contemporary lifestyle brand called VENU with the first hotel scheduled for Bluewaters Island in Dubai.
